The “Vicolo Petrella” apartments and rooms are located in the historical centre of Cortona, nearby the central Piazza della Repubblica, the square which the main street, Via Nazionale (also known as “Rugapiana”) starts from, leading all the way to Piazza Garibaldi and connecting thus the two main Cortona squares. Both the town’s two main museums and main sights can thus be easily visited without driving. Staying in Cortona also means having a chance to reach in less than no time all of Tuscany’s and Umbria’s main historic-artistic resorts such as Montalcino, Siena, Montepulciano, Florence, Assisi, Perugia, Gubbio and many more.
To reach Cortona driving on the Autostrada del Sole highway (A1) (both northbound and southbound), exit at the Valdichiana toll-gate and get on the Siena-Perugia speedway, direction Perugia. Get off the speedway at the Cortona-San Lorenzo exit. At the stop sign take a right turn and keep driving direction Cortona, drive past Camucia and follow signs for Cortona. Climbing up the hill, right after driving past the Cortona town-limit sign, keep driving bout 150 m and take a right into the Piazza del Mercato. Here, we’ll be waiting for you to personally take you to the Vicolo Petrella apartments. If travelling on public transportation, we will wait for your arrival at the bus stop located in Piazza Garibaldi, only a short distance away from our complex. If travelling by train the Camucia and Terontola stations will be the closest and from both of them a bus leaves each 30 minutes and a cab service is available at all times.
